School Improvement and Educational Equity
February 20, 2019
Collaborative for Student Success Communications Specialist Erika Ross takes readers on a sort of “privilege walk” in blog form to explore the urgent question of equity in today’s educational environment through the prism of ESSA school improvement plans. In doing so, she highlights the findings of the Collaborative’s recent independent review of 17 states plans, conducted by “education experts and civil rights leaders to see how those plans fare in providing resources and support to schools that are most in need.” The review’s findings are an “important to call out so that education stakeholders can push states to improve and maintain their plans to improve educational equity.”
