D.C. Releases New School Report Card

December 7, 2018

Last week, State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) released the District of Columbia’s newest report card and School Transparency and Reporting (STAR) Framework, the Washington Post reports. “District education officials developed the rating system” to comply with ESSA, which “mandated that states and the District create uniform and easily accessible report cards for schools by the end of this year.” According to OSSE, “the superintendent’s office will divide $11 million in federal grant money among those 10 schools over the next three years in a bid to boost” the 10 schools who fell in the bottom 5 percent.”
