Chiefs for Change Share How States Can Better Measure School Quality and Success

October 17, 2016

In a new policy paper, Chiefs for Change urged states to “choose research-proven indicators to guide education quality.” The paper, titled “ESSA Indicators of School Quality and Student Success,” analyzed various research methods that states can select to measure school quality and success. Chiefs for Change encouraged states to use their findings as a “key guidepost” for choosing the school’s best options. The group also charged states to “adopt processes of continual involvement” so that they may “re-evaluate and refine their systems” as new information becomes available and measures evolve.
