Shareholders of Pearson PLC Reject Proposed Resolution

Shareholders of Pearson PLC, the world’s largest education company, “overwhelmingly rejected” a resolution that “sought a six-month business review of Pearson’s policies, including its ‘support of high-stakes testing.’” AFT said that parents opting out of Pearson-supported tests are one reason the company needs to shift gears and help states reform testing policies in light of the ESSA that gives them greater flexibility over education policy.
