U.S. Dept. of Ed Speeds up Review of ESSA Plans

Education Week’s Alyson Klein writes that the U.S. Dept. of Education is “speeding up” its review of ESSA plans. But even though they’re speeding up their feedback process, “it’s not clear just how much of a role the federal feedback is having in shaping states’ final products. Six states have seen their plans approved, but “some states are getting their plans approved even if they don’t take the federal feedback to heart.”
