Harvard Professor Evaluates the Use of State Efficiency Networks through ESSA Funding
February 14, 2017
Thomas Kane, professor of education and economics at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, authored an essay in Education Next, on the use of “state efficiency networks” through ESSA funding. Kane argued that policymakers who use ESSA’s evidence-based opportunities will create a “lasting legacy” for improving student outcomes. He encouraged local leaders to look long term and “recognize that a system for testing ideas is more valuable than any single idea they might champion.”
