NNSTOY Finds States and Districts Lacking Teacher Engagement

A flash poll conducted by the National Network of State Teachers of the Year (NNSTOY) indicates that states and school districts have not engaged teachers regarding ESSA implementation. Seventy-five percent of respondents said their local district had not “held discussions, listening sessions or meetings with educators to get information or feedback” on implementation. Fifty-five percent said neither they nor their colleagues “provided any input to your state or district regarding ESSA implementation.”
