U.S. Dept. of Ed Issues Feedback on CO’s ESSA Plan

The Dept. of Education issued feedback on Colorado’s ESSA plan. Federal officials directed the state agency to reconfigure “its student achievement goals and academic achievement indicator so that they are based on straight up proficiency rates, not scale scores,” and to provide more information on “how graduation rates and English-language proficiency—two required elements of ESSA plans—will figure into school ratings.” Read more from Chalkbeat Colorado.
