Personalized Learning for State ESSA Plans
June 25, 2017
Doug Mesecar, an adjunct scholar at the Lexington Institute, authored an opinion piece in The 74 discussing how states are “seizing the opportunity ESSA provides to start moving to personalized learning.” Mesecar argues “Tennessee has the most comprehensive approach to personalized learning,” and how it is “fundamental to its educational system” while also praising New Jersey and New Mexico. Additionally, he urges states that have not submitted their plans yet to “study and build upon these types of strategies and initiatives that are possible under ESSA.”
