Blank Discusses the Use of Non-Academic Indicators to Measure Accountability

Martin Blank, president of the Institute for Educational Leadership and Coalition for Community Schools, authored a piece in the Huffington Post discussing the use of non-academic indicators to measure accountability under ESSA. Blank concludes that if states choose the right kind of non-academic indicators to include in their plans, they will be encouraging educators to explore with families and their broader community how to address the challenges and build sustainable improvement efforts.
