Advocacy Group to Provide Advising on How to Comply with ESSA
July 22, 2016
Under ESSA’s “authorizing provisions,” school libraries are slated to receive an increase in federal support, according to Publishers Weekly. To receive the support, states will need to submit a state implementation plan to the Dept. of Education that is compliant with federal “education laws, administrative codes, and other rules and regulations” by April, 2017. In preparation for this tight deadline, the advocacy group Every Library will be providing school library associations with advising and consulting on how to properly comply with ESSA’s requirements.
