House Education Committee Chairwoman Issues Statement of Support
February 2, 2017
In response to efforts to block previous regulations under ESSA, House Committee on Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued a statement of support noting that, “the [Obama] administration insisted on using rules and regulations to unilaterally push its failed education agenda” and “these congressional resolutions send a signal that those days are over.” Rep. Foxx commended Reps. Rokita (R-IN) and Guthrie (R-KY) on their initiatives for “pushing back on the flawed policies of the past and moving us closer to a more positive, more responsible federal role in education.”
