Amidst the “upheaval in D.C.,” states are staying focused on ESSA implementation, according to The 74 Million. The piece argued that while ESSA puts the “work of ensuring equity largely back in state hands,” a change in administration could mean a “certain loss of federal cover for leaders wanting to go further in holding schools to account for student performance.” To date, 13 states have released draft plans.
