Could “Supplement, Not Supplant” Present Challenges for Struggling Districts?
September 7, 2016
Chad Miller, director of education policy for the American Action Forum, commented on the Dept. of Education’s proposed “supplement, not supplant” regulations on the organization’s blog. Miller noted his concern for struggling school districts that could face challenges in funding under the proposed regulations. He argued that this new rule will “further destabilize” the schools that the policy seeks to assist, stating that local school districts might have to foot the bill for an additional $800 million in education funding.
