In response to a letter submitted by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos to chief state school officers on ESSA, Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) called DeVos’ note a “good step towards ensuring that states have clarity and are able to follow the timeline they have already been working towards.”
