Pennsylvania Poised to Implement ESSA Plan

The Tribune-Democrat’s David Hurst writes about state reactions to Pennsylvania’s ESSA plan. “Pennsylvania’s plan reflects our guiding principles of transparency, equity and innovation – and provides new flexibility to schools as they prepare students for success after graduation,” state Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera said. Hurst notes that Rivera’s office will now ensure that local school districts are implementing the changes.
