Idaho District Implementing ESSA-based “21st Century Community Learning Center”
August 24, 2018
Idaho’s Lake Pend Oreille School District has been “awarded a grant to implement a 21st Century Community Learning Center program” at Farmin-Stidwell and Kootenai elementary schools, Mary Malone writes in the Bonner County Daily Bee. Their purpose is three-fold, says district Teaching and Learning Director Andra Murray. “They have to provide some academic support, they have to provide enrichment, and they need to offer activities that qualify as family engagement.” The program is authorized through ESSA and funded through the U.S. Department of Education.
