State Not Giving Parents Tools Needed to Evaluate Schools

LA School Report says the CheckStatePlans.org evaluation finds that California’s ESSA lacks two critical data points necessary to evaluate schools. The state received the lowest scores in two of the review’s nine categories: “failing to identify the 5 percent of lowest-performing schools, including high schools where more than a third of students aren’t graduating, and for not measuring whether individual students are actually learning more.”
