WV Board of Ed Considers New Accountability System
June 16, 2017
The West Virginia Board of Education released a new plan, and is considering a new accountability system under ESSA that wouldn’t give schools a summative rating. State Dept. of Education leaders presented a new plan to the Board “that includes various school measurements” but noted that, “these statistics wouldn’t be weighed or otherwise combined into any overall label or score.” The Dept. will host public meetings in the state’s ESSA plan throughout the month of July.
