Real Clear Education Examines Ohio’s ESSA Submission Delay
March 20, 2017
Real Clear Education examined Ohio’s recent decision to delay the submission of their ESSA plan to the Dept. of Education. According to the piece, “In rare bipartisan fashion, state officials, educators and lawmakers from across the political spectrum agreed that a delay was in the state’s best interest.” Ohio originally planned to submit by the April deadline, however due to ODE officials receiving “vocal criticisms” that stakeholder feedback was not incorporated into the final plan, the department decided to delay.
