MT’s ESSA Plan Receives Gubernatorial Approval

Montana’s ESSA plan received gubernatorial approval, “but it’s still unclear if it will be accepted by the U.S. Department of Education.” The plan “calls for students who have historically scored the lowest in tests—students in poor families, English learners, kids with disabilities, and Native Americans—to show the greatest academic improvement over the next six years,” and sets “a goal to have nearly 90 percent of all high school students graduate.”
