Lawmakers Express Concern about Consistency of Feedback from Dept. of Ed

During a House Education and Workforce Committee Hearing “lawmakers from both sides of the aisle Tuesday expressed concern about the consistency of feedback from the U.S. Department of Education to states about ESSA plans.” Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) stated that the committee “will be watching to ensure that Washington keeps its distance,” from state plans and she “stressed that the new federal education law was only a part of what state and local school leaders had to deal with.”
