Center for American Progress Expert Gives Perspective on the Check State Plans Peer Review Process

Scott Sargrad, managing director of K-12 Education Policy at the Center for American Progress, wrote a letter to the editor clarifying that the Check State Plans peer review process was conducted by reviewers who were genuinely interested in identifying policies that will help all students succeed. He commented that “participating in the independent review provided the opportunity to be part of a group of 30 individuals spanning the political spectrum and representing diverse perspectives” who were charged to identify “overall strengths and weaknesses as well as dive into specific areas like how the state will support schools, assess progress, etc.
