Fordham Event Examines How ESSA Can Help Make Students Better Readers

During an event held by the Thomas B. Fordham Institute, reading and policy experts came together to discuss how states can use their new flexibility under ESSA to begin to increase students’ reading achievement. The event highlighted the new Knowledge Matters campaign – an effort to restore history, science, geography, art, and music into education with the goal of making students better readers.
